"My classes are based on the premise that we are all creative, that everyone can write, and we all have a story to tell. My job is to help find the writer in each person as they explore various writing forms to discover their own voice and style. Because I am also committed to the idea that we should record our stories and leave them as a legacy for those who come after us, working in the River Bluffs program has been a gift. The richness of the writing and importance of the stories makes this one of my favorite places to teach.

"Any hesitation felt at the beginning of a class quickly disappears as people realize the focus is on telling their stories in their own voice, and words roll off the pen onto the page. For me, it is fun to guide writers on their path and watch as students come to the realization that they can write.
