This week, a woman told the Watchdog her 95-year-old mom had just gotten a letter saying she'd won $400,000. All she had to do to get the unexpected bonanza was to wire $3,380 to a "tax agent," the letter said.
"This sounds like a huge scam that is targeting elderly people," the daughter said. You bet it was a scam, and like many fraudulent schemes, it was aimed at older people.
